WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) -- A former seventh-grade teacher in New York who was arrested in an Internet sex sting has pleaded not guilty.
Greg Cavaluzzi of Yorktown faces a mandatory 10-year minimum prison sentence if convicted.
Prosecutors say Cavaluzzi was arrested May 31 when he arrived in Elmsford for what he thought was a liaison with a 15-year-old girl.
The 34-year-old was indicted on a federal charge of trying to entice a minor into sexual intercourse.
Defense lawyer Clinton Calhoun entered the plea for Cavaluzzi on Thursday in White Plains.
Cavaluzzi taught social studies at Pelham Middle School. He resigned just before his arrest.
He previously coached lacrosse in Pleasantville, N.Y., and Ridgefield, Conn., and worked in New York City schools.
