Suspected S.I. Mob Soldier Gunned Down at Bus Stop

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Police fear there could be a mob war brewing after a reputed soldier in the Bonanno family was shot dead in a hail of gunfire at a Staten Island bus stop Thursday, officials say.

Anthony Seffacico, 46, said to be a "made man," was waiting for an express bus to Manhattan around 4:30 a.m. when he was shot several times near his Arden Heights home, police say. Seffacico, a union laborer, was apparently on his way to work.

Seffacico, a father of twins, was shot at least seven times and died at Staten Island University Hospital, police say.

The Bonanno family is apparently in the midst of a power struggle after its boss, Salvatore Montagna, was deported to Canada.

Investigators believe this is the first killing of a made man in New York City in about 10 years.
