Find Out If You're Owed Part of NY's $9.9B in Unclaimed Funds

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- In this economy, wouldn't it be nice to have a few extra dollars fall into your wallet?

New Yorkers can find out if they are owed some of the state's $9.9 billion in unclaimed funds at events across the state in July.

"New York has $9.9 billion in unclaimed fund accounts. We want to return this money to its rightful owners," State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said. "The money belongs to New Yorkers. We want to give it back."

New Yorkers can either go to the events or they may also check for unclaimed funds at www.osc.state.ny.us or by calling toll free at 1-800-221-9311.
