SUV Crashes Onto Sidewalk, into Undercover Officer in Marine Park

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An undercover narcotics officer is recovering after being struck by an SUV in Brooklyn Tuesday.

Al Jones reports

Two SUVs collided at the intersection of East 34th Street and Avenue U in Marine Park at around 3:30 p.m.

The impact sent one of the vehicles onto the sidewalk and into the officer who was making a bust on the corner. The officer suffered a serious injury to his left leg (below the knee) and may lose the leg, according to authorities.

He was taken to Kings County Hospital, and is listed in serious but stable condition. No one else was hurt in the incident.

Neither of the drivers have been charged and police have ruled this an accident.
