Items from Apollo 11 Mission to Be Auctioned in NYC

NEW YORK (AP)  -- Marking the 40th anniversary of man's first lunar landing, a New York City auction house is offering more than 50 items related to the Apollo 11 mission.

Bonhams New York says many of the articles going on sale Thursday were acquired directly from the astronauts or were originally in their collections.

The historic lunar mission of astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin ``Buzz'' Aldrin was on July 20, 1969.

Among the highlights are three check lists from the descent sequence of Apollo 11's landing. They are signed by Aldrin, who consigned them to the sale. The lot is estimated to bring $125,000 to $175,000.

The sale contains about 350 more items from various space missions.
