NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP)  -- A New York City police officer was hospitalized but not seriously hurt early Saturday morning after someone shot him in the chest in Brooklyn.

Kathleen Maloney reports

Police say the blow was absorbed by his bulletproof vest.
