Warwick Teen Dies in Crash after Passing Friends' Cars
CHESTER, N.Y. (AP/1010 WINS) -- An 18-year-old Orange County man died after he lost control of his car and crashed after passing the cars of two friends.
The accident happened shortly after 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Town of Chester Police say Richard Lodovichetti of Warwick was dead in his 2005 Dodge Neon, which was resting on its roof on the Kings Highway bypass in Chester.
An investigation found he was traveling south behind two vehicles operated by his friends when he passed them in a legal passing zone.
He lost control of his car, swerved off the road, struck fence posts and embankments and rolled over.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Lodovichetti graduated from Warwick High School in 2008.
