Clinton Settles 'Feud' Between O'Brien, Newark Mayor Booker

NEWARK, N.J. (AP/ 1010 WINS)  -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has defused the facetious feud between "Tonight Show'' host Conan O'Brien and Newark Mayor Cory Booker.

The nation's top diplomat chided O'Brien for bothering her Thursday, advising the two forty-somethings to chalk up the dispute up a head injury the comic suffered last month.

The feud began Sept. 23 when he joked that Booker's new health care program consisted of a bus ticket out of gritty Newark, New Jersey's largest city. Booker replied by banning O'Brien from Newark Liberty Airport.

Clinton told them to return to their core duties in her video message.

For Booker, she says that means "leading Newark toward a new era of growth and prosperity.''

She says that for Conan, it means "dancing around the stage and making lame jokes about my pantsuits.''
