West Point to Honor Ross Perot



WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP)  -- West Point is honoring two-time presidential candidate Ross Perot.

The U.S. Military Academy's Association of Graduates has named the Texas businessman as its 2009 winner of the Thayer Award, which recognizes citizens for service in the national interest.

Past winners of the prestigious honor include Billy Graham, Bob Hope, Walter Cronkite, Henry Kissinger and several presidents and top generals.

Perot is a Navy veteran.

He is scheduled to be honored at a pair of ceremonies at the Military Academy on Thursday.
