L.I. Teen's Hidden Camera Catches Alleged Locker Thief
SELDEN, N.Y. (AP/1010 WINS) -- An adult hall monitor at a Long Island high was charged with petty larceny charges after she was apparently caught on video breaking into school lockers.
Mona Rivera reports
The video camera was secretly planted by Newfield High School senior Tiana Rapp, who said she was victimized twice and had $190 taken from her.
Police have arrested a hall monitor, Linda Cubano, and charged her with three counts of petty larceny in connection with the thefts.
Rapp said school officials told her that a student was likely responsible, but she remained suspicious. She and a friend set up the video camera, which captured Cubano rifling through their belongings.
A school statement says Cubano has resigned.
