Police: 2 LI Drivers Collide, Both Were Drunk

CENTEREACH, NY (AP)  -- Police say a Long Island woman was driving drunk with her six-year-old daughter when she collided with another driver, who also was intoxicated.

Veronica Paduano, of Centereach, and Francis Ging, of Lake Grove, were charged with driving while intoxicated. Paduano was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Suffolk County police say Paduano was pulling into a shopping center in Centereach Friday evening when she was struck by Ging.

All three, plus another passenger in Paduano's car, were taken to a hospital. Their injuries were not life threatening.

Both drivers were to be arraigned at a later date. The names of their attorneys were not immediately on record and no phone listing could be found for either defendant.
