NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One teen is dead and another is in the hospital after a car accident Saturday night on Staten Island.
A 16-year-old was driving 2004 Chevy North on Fr. Capodanno Blvd., near Slater Blvd., when he somehow lost control of the car and crashed into a pole, police said.
Officials pronounced the driver dead at the scene. A 16-year-old passenger was taken to Staten Island University North Hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.
There's no word as to what may have caused the crash which happened just before 8 p.m. Police said they are continuing their investigation into the accident.
