Bronx Fire Rips Through Stores

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A five alarm fire in the Norwood section of the Bronx devastated more than a dozen stores Saturday morning.

1010 WINS Kathleen Maloney reports

The fire broke out just before 3am in a store at 3105 Bainbridge Avenue near 204th Street.  The fire spread quickly, and thirteen adjacent stores were engulfed. Only one business was open at the time the fire broke out and everyone got out safely.

More than 200 firefighters were battling the blaze at its peak. It took more than five hours to bring the fire under control. Four firefighters were  treated for bumps and bruises. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
