Cab Crash Brings Down East Village Scaffold, 6 Hurt
NEW YORK (AP/1010 WINS) -- Six people were injured after two yellow cabs collided in the East Village Sunday night and careened into a sidewalk scaffolding, authorities said Monday.
According to witnesses, both cabs went up onto the sidewalk and knocked down the scaffolding as one of the vehicles attempted to pas the other.
The crash occurred near the intersection of East 8th Street and Broadway at about 9 p.m., police said.
Six people were hurt as a result of the crash and were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
