Cops: NY Corrections Officer Strikes, Kills Pedestrian in Prospect Heights



NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A state Corrections Officer struck and killed a pedestrian while driving to work at Sing Sing Correctional Facility early Tuesday morning in Brooklyn, police said.

The crash occurred at 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and St. Marks Avenue in Prospect Heights, according to police.

A 38-year-old woman, identified as Dorothea Wallace, was struck and killed as she attempted to cross the street. 

Wallace, of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Damon Padmore, 38, a 12-year veteran of the Corrections Department, was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
