Man Gunned Down Outside Bill Thompson's B'klyn Office
NEW YORK (AP/1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for the person who pulled up beside an SUV driver and shot him to death in Brooklyn.
The NYPD says 39-year-old Ramon Blas was hit in the torso on Tuesday.
Witnesses say the dying man drove a short distance and slammed into a parked car.
Then he got out and staggered into a parked van. That driver ran for help.
The drama unfolded across the street from a campaign office of now-defeated mayoral candidate William Thompson Jr.
A campaign volunteer, Juan Beltran, offered first aid assistance. But police said the man was already dead.
