WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP/ 1010 WINS) -- An upstate New York woman has been sentenced to prison in the drunken-driving crash in Westchester County that killed her best friend.
Prosecutors said Meghan Wood was sentenced to one to three years in prison on Wednesday in a White Plains courtroom.
The Stormville woman pleaded guilty in July to charges including vehicular manslaughter and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Prosecutors said Wood initially claimed her dead friend, 22-year-old Lisa Moray, had been driving.
The June 2008 crash occurred when Wood's SUV went off a ramp to Interstate 287 in Greenburgh. The vehicle rolled over, killing Moray.
