Conn. Teen Charged in Death of His 5-Month-Old Son
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP/1010 WINS) -- New Haven police have arrested a 19-year-old city man in connection with the death of his 5-month-old son last year.
Morries Hill was arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Wednesday on a charge of risk of injury to a minor. He was ordered held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
The arrest is the first related to the death of Morries Hill Jr. in August 2008. Doctors say the baby had lacerated internal organs, a significant brain injury and several rib fractures. No one has been charged directly with the killing.
Police say the investigation continues.
Hill's lawyer, Robert Berke, says his client denies the allegations. Berke says Hill adored the child, and several other people helped take care of the baby.
