New York Islanders Player Diagnosed with Swine Flu

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- One of the New York Islanders' top young stars has been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus, the team has confirmed.

Kyle Okposo won't accompany the team on its upcoming road trip and was expected to miss at least three games, said spokesman Seth Sylvan.

Several other NHL players have missed time due to swine flu this season, including Okposo's teammate Doug Weight, who missed three games.

Quintin Laing of the Washington Capitals, Petr Budaj of the Colorado Avalanche and Ladislav Smid of the Edmonton Oilers also had confirmed Swine Flu cases.

Okposo has spent most of the season on the Isles' top forward line. He has 3 goals and 7 assists in 17 games.
