NEW YORK (AP) -- Police on Long Island are investigating an accident in which a 73-year-old driver struck four pedestrians, seriously injuring two of them.
Police say Doris Rullo was driving in Brightwaters Monday night when she struck the four pedestrians who were walking in a group of pairs on the side of the road.
Police say two of the pedestrians, 65-year-old Donald Marran, of Bay Shore, and 66-year-old Rosemary Pappacoda, of Garden Place, were hospitalized. Marran was listed in serious condition with multiple fractures and chest trauma and Pappacoda was listed in stable condition with multiple fractures.
The two other pedestrians were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police say Rullo, of Brightwaters, was not injured. No other information was immediately available.
