Water Main Break on Staten Island Floods Streets

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP)  -- Water has been restored to all customers that were affected by a water main break on Staten Island this morning.

There are also no reported issues with water pressure to homes in the area said Mercedes Padilla, a spokeswoman for the city Department of Environmental Protection.

The 20-inch main at Victory and Leroy Street burst at about 4:20 a.m, flooded side streets, and caused some residents to lose water pressure.

The cause is under investigation, said Padilla, and repairs should be completed by Wednesday evening. The street won't reopen for traffic until Thursday morning.
