NEWARK, N.J. -- 1010 WINS reporter John Montone went to look into a story about poor toilet conditions for cab drivers at Newark Airport and he confirmed the problem -- it's a mess.
Cab drivers claim the Port Authority closed the regular toilets in January and brought in six portable toilets that drivers claim have not been maintained.

Drivers told Montone that they are worried about health concerns.
The Port Authority said the cabbies have nobody to blame but themselves. A spokesperson for the Port Authority said the agency was forced to shut down the restroom facilities because some of the cabbies destroyed it -- vandalized it. A hazardous material team had to be called in to help clean-up.
The Port Authority claims they are finalizing a deal with the cabbies and a new restroom is on the way, but the Newark cabbies association will pay for any future damages.
