NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- OMG! Some1 Txt Me of an MT spot in Bklyn!
Well, what that really says is 'Oh my God, Someone text me of an empty spot in Brooklyn." It may be hard to read, but get used to it if you want some help finding parking in Park Slope.
A new social network called "Roadify" has started a text alert system for people who register with the site when someone leaves or spots a space in the parking challenged neighborhood.
This way, motorists who are looking to park their cars can request a list of available spots from the site.
The site, created by Nick Nyhan, 41, and some friends, has added about 200 users since launching November 16.
It is free to register but normal text-messaging rates do apply.
