MILLVILLE, N.J. (AP/ 1010 WINS)  -- Police have ticketed a New Jersey teenager who was struck and injured by a car while crossing the street.

Police in Millville questioned the 13-year-old and issued her the summons for improperly crossing while she was in a hospital with cuts and bruises.

Police say the girl had been riding with her father to a Christmas parade and was stopped in traffic Friday when she exited the car and tried to cross to greet friends.

Police say the girl was struck by a Honda Civic and the impact shattered the car's windshield.

Her name has not been released because of her age.

No charges were filed against the driver.
