NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There's a happy ending to the tale of a lamb that went on the lam. After escaping a live-animal market and leading police on a chase through several blocks in the South Bronx this week, the 7-month-old lamb has been taken to an upstate animal sanctuary.
The female lamb was taken Friday to a sanctuary in Watkins Glen. An official at the Animal Care and Control shelter in Manhattan says the lamb looked ``very happy and relieved.''
That's understandable. The lamb was going to be sold for food before she slipped out of the animal market Wednesday.
Police captured her and turned her over to the Manhattan shelter.
The shelter staff gave her a fitting nickname: Lucky Lady.
