TRENTON (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey State Prison remained in lockdown Sunday, two days after authorities discovered a loaded firearm within its secured perimeter, prison officials said.
With the prison in lockdown, all visits to the facility, which had a population of more than 1,800 as of Aug. 1, are canceled.
The discovery of the firearm came as a result of information uncovered during an investigation Friday, the Department of Corrections said in a release. The Department said the investigation is ongoing and provided no further information.
