NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A resident shot and killed an armed man outside his home before using the victim's gun to wound a second man in a dispute over money, authorities said Wednesday.
Lulzim Kupi was arrested following the shooting late Tuesday in Queens, police said. The Queens district attorney's office said Kupi will be charged with murder, attempted murder and with criminal possession of a weapon.
Shortly before the shooting, Kupi received a phone call demanding a meeting at his home in the Ridgewood section, police said. At around 10:30 p.m., he was confronted outside the home by two men, both armed with pistols.
Kupi used a revolver to shoot and kill Gentian Kasa, police said. He then grabbed Kasa's semiautomatic pistol, ran after the second man and shot at him several times, police said.
The second man, whose name was not released, was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police said they believe the dispute may have been related to Kupi's construction work, which included building bars for Albanian social clubs.
About $900 in cash was found on Kasa's body, police said.
