Dr. Brian McDonough on C.D.C. Vaccine Education Campaign
|
NEW YORK -- The C.D.C. is initiating a new education campaign which makes a great deal of sense.
What they’re doing is starting to try and educate parents about the importance of certain vaccine like Meningitis, M.M.R., D.T.P and the new H.P.V. vaccine.
Here is why I think it is a good idea.
Few will argue that an educated person is the best weapon against disease. If someone knows about a disease, and what causes it, they can actually be more involved in the treatment.
Children have to take more vaccines than ever and many parents are asking why? Some are starting to fight against the idea and even avoiding appointments, or not having their kids get the shots.
The best way to get people to be compliant, to get the vaccines on time, is to let them understand why it’s important.
