Two Dead in Biker Accidents in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Two people were killed in separate motorcycle accidents in Brooklyn early this morning.

Police say a woman riding on the back of her husband's Suzuki motorcycle, fell off on the Gowanus Expressway, and was run over by another biker in their group.

It happened just after midnight near Hamilton Avenue, when a driver in a Toyota Camry allegedly cut them off, causing them to lose control.

The woman was pronounced dead about an hour later. The driver of the second motorcycle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another motorcyclist was killed on the east-bound Belt Parkway. Police say at around 2:30 Saturday morning, the operator of a Kawasaki motorcycle lost control near the Mill Basin Drawbridge and was ejected to the roadway.

His leg was severed and it's believed he bled to death.

Police identify the victim as 28-year old Lamar Leonard of Brooklyn.
