Bicyclist, 13, is Run Over in Queens, Dies

NEW YORK (AP) -- A 13-year-old Queens girl on her bicycle has been run over by a truck and killed Thursday afternoon.

Carolina Hernandez was crossing the intersection at 57 Avenue and Junction Boulevard around 4:15 p.m. when she was hit by a Chevy truck making a right turn, police said. She was pronounced dead at a Elmhurst Hospital.

Police arrested the driver of the truck, Carlos Noriega-Olivia, 36.

The driver of the truck has been charged with driving with a suspended license.
