YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) -- A woman smashed her ex-boyfriend's car with a rock, and her brother fired several bullets at him when he came out of his house to see what was going on, police said.
The 38-year-old former boyfriend told police he heard glass breaking outside his home Saturday morning, looked outside and saw the 24-year-old woman smashing his car's windshield. He said he ran outside and her 18-year-old brother started shooting at him with a handgun but missed.
He said his ex-girlfriend and her brother then ran away and he called police and gave a description of the siblings, who were captured a couple of miles away.
Police said they recovered the gun, which had four rounds in it.
The woman was charged with criminal mischief, a felony. Her brother was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, all felonies. They were to be arraigned Monday.
