Harlem landmark, the Ruth Williams Dance Studio (a project of the Ruth Williams Dance Foundation), presents "Future Stars" 56th annual recital. Students, ages 3 to seniors, beginners to advanced, will perform ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop and African-based cultural dances from Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean. BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM) creates a new vision of contemporary dance by fusing diverse cultural dance styles with Balinese theatre. BALAM will present the scintillating Balinese duet, Oleg Tambulilingan, featuring artistic director Carlos Fittante, and Indonesian guest Artist Nani Devi for the AIDS benefit dance festival, DANCING AT THE CROSSROADS. This festival is FREE and is presented by Dancers Responding to Aids and the Times Square Alliance on Sunday June 8, 2008 at Military Island in Times Square, New York City.
