BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) A 9-year-old Michigan boy who
created a 281.5-pound ball of cling film is appearing on CBS's
''The Early Show'' to mark Guinness World Records Day 2009.
Jake Lonsway of Bay County's Bangor Township near Bay City was 7
years old when he submitted his record-setting cling-wrap ball for
a weigh-in in June 2007.
Guinness certified the ball beat the previous record of 250
pounds set in 2005 by Andy Martell of Toronto. Jake's ball measured
11.5 feet around.
Jake is taking the ball with him on the TV show in New York on
Thursday morning. Guinness says he's added modestly to it since
setting the record two years ago.
The appearance is part of a weeklong series of spots on ''The
Early Show'' marking Guinness World Record Day.
