NEW YORK (AP) A woman who was set on fire at her New York City
apartment by her former boyfriend while her two young children were
at home is being treated for burns to her upper body.
Police say the children were being treated for smoke inhalation
in the fiery attack at her Queens home on Sunday morning. The
ex-boyfriend was taken to Harlem Hospital with burns to his hands
and legs.
Police say the 25-year-old suspect has not yet been charged.
A fire official tells the New York Post on its Web site on
Sunday that the attacker knocked on the woman's door after first
setting a fire in the hallway so she couldn't escape. The man then
tossed a flammable liquid at the woman and lit a match.
